Checkerboard Pizza was founded by Ken Forkish, James Beard award winning cookbook author and founder of Portland’s Ken’s Artisan Bakery and Ken’s Artisan Pizza. Ken’s recipes are an homage to New York & Italian pizza styles with an eye on quality, seasonal ingredients and a crust that was built on years of cookbook research completed while writing The Elements of Pizza and Flour Water Salt Yeast.
